2018 Year in Review

One full year in Colorado and visits to 3 countries and 10+ states. Here are 20 of my favorite images from 2018.

Around New Years for the last several years I have been attempting to pick my favorite 20 images from the preceding year. These may not all be crowd favorites, or my most technically perfect photos, but each represents a favorite moment that I want to remember from the year. After all,  isn’t that the point of photography?

Many of the below images have been shared before. Many photos that originally jumped out at me at the time of taking them still jump out at me today. Others are new images that have grown on me over time.

Castle Mountain in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. This mountain could be seen from just about everywhere during the hiking portion of our trip.

A deer roaming the foothills outside of Denver in the early morning light.

Pretty much a tropical paradise. Isla Pastores, Panama.

Perhaps my favorite photo of the Alaska trip. The clouds this morning were ebbing and flowing, creating countless compositions.

The Brooklyn Bridge on a foggy spring morning.

Ski touring in the backcountry of Hokkaido, Japan.

Haze from western fires settles into the foothills near Denver.

Peak 1, Summit County, CO. Taken after an early morning ski tour.

An ice climber, undeterred by the weather, descends into the canyon, Ouray, CO.

The Eiffel Tower from Sacré-Cœur, Paris.

A mountain goat on Mt Evans, CO.

The Eiffel Tower at sunset.

Japanese White Eye bird in a cherry blossom tree, Tokyo.

Acorn Street, on Beacon Hill in Boston.

A bison dusted in snow.

Union Station, Denver, after a summer rain.
