Few experiences in the outdoors can top encounters with wildlife. Whether sought-after or unanticipated, it is a special experience to come upon elk in Rocky Mountain National Park, a mountain goat on Mt. Evans, or even a deer at your local park. Alaska is a destination that has been on my bucket list for years, but the pieces had never come together quite right to make it a reality. That finally changed this past summer as a good friend and I planned a two-week trip to the 49th State.
Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) will be hosting my photography throughout the months of August and September.
Photographing in large cities and popular tourist areas can cause frustrations – people wandering in front of you, too many people in a scene, the “action” not occurring when/where you would like, etc. In many ways, it’s like the urban equivalent of wildlife photography!
