A Day in RMNP

A Day in RMNP

One day in Rocky Mountain National Park this past week. Some good friends were in Estes Park that I met up with later for a hike, but I figured I’d start a little earlier and capture the sunrise. For some reason they didn’t want to start the day that earlyΒ πŸ™‚ .

Fox Pups

Fox Pups

An old friend and former coworker contacted me to tell me about the fox den on her brother’s property and offered to get me in touch. I spent one early morning photographing them and wish I could have spent more. Since foxes often return to the same den year after year, hopefully I’ll have an opportunity again next year!

Colorado National Monument

Colorado National Monument

A birthday trip to the Western Slope of Colorado this spring. As long as I have lived here in Colorado, there are still so many areas to explore. Colorado National Monument was one such area, that after years of driving by it, we finally planned a trip specifically to see it.

And spring was the perfect time to visit, with few crowds and milder temperatures. The scenery wasn’t too bad, either.

The very first photo of the trip. Book Cliffs from atop Colorado National Monument at sunset.

March in Colorado

March in Colorado

March weather in Colorado can go from one extreme to the other and this past month was no exception. It was one of the snowiest on record and yet we enjoyed 70+ degree days.Β

Here are a few photos from March, including a foggy morning at Chatfield State Park after a snow, and birds on a warm afternoon at Crown Hill Park in the suburbs of Denver.

Before sunrise I spotted these trees in dense fog. I stuck around for the fog to begin to lift in order to capture them.
